What has hindered you more than all else from serving and growing in God?
Misunderstanding God’s forgiveness.
What do you mean?
“If you continue to shoot yourself in the foot every day, there is no way you will walk by tomorrow.”
“It’s that simple.”
Every act we commit that we know in our heart is wrong, is represented by one bullet. Each time a person does what they know they should not do, they pull the trigger and shoot themselves in the foot with that bullet.
It is no surprise then, that I was crippled for such a long time. Unable to walk, unable to grow, and unable to harness the power of the Holy Ghost. Including- not being able to understand why I could not harness it.
We Misunderstand God’s Forgiveness
We imagine a perfect world- which includes a free pass that allow us to sin. The ‘free pass’ is asking God for forgiveness. The free pass we believe in- washes not only our sin away, but all the consequences of sin which are known as Karma. God may chose to forgive us, but Karma must be paid.
We imagine:
“We can shoot ourselves in the foot every day, and walk by tomorrow.”
Except, nothing could be further from the Truth.
Almighty God controls and operates THE VALVE of His Holy Spirit. Picture a water spout. If we practice sin, deliberately, knowing it is wrong- yet doing it anyways….. on that day- the water of the Holy Ghost trickles in. One drop at a time.
I use to sin daily. Practice it as if I were training to win a gold medal. Every day. Multiple times a day and then relying upon- PRAYER, and asking for forgiveness. WITH NO PHYSICAL ACTION other than cheap WORDS. Words don’t build nor change anything. I was a believer in Christ. Yes. But at that time, sin was my master. Not Christ. I loved sin way more than Christ, even if I was a believer. But even so, I remained puzzled. Bewildered at why I could not grow, change, and overcome the difficulties in my life.
If a man or woman is to begin harnessing the POWER OF GOD’S DIVINE ETERNAL SPIRIT. His ALMIGHTY FIRE POWER, then he or she must learn to harness and control what is preventing God from releasing it to him.
He must stop doing what he should not do.
He must begin taking one step at a time toward God. He must do this every day. If he hopes to curtail his wrongdoing and turn it into right doing. He must continue calling upon God’s name, asking for His help, to be taught, disciplined, whipped, punished, while thanking God for doing so. Also, he must learn to refrain from getting angry with God. Period. Angry for not providing what he asks, or for the manner in which things turned out. Don’t blame God. Learn to begin blaming yourself. He must learn to listen more than he talks. He must learn to enroll in THE ACADEMY OF GOD’S TRUTH and want to remain a student for eternal life! There is only one master teacher. The rest of us are students who are enabled to teach through Him masterfully, powerfully, and gloriously.
Allll the glory be, to He that sets us Free! King Jesus!
