Brother, forgive me for another message but I do not want to be misinterpreted. We must be careful now more than ever, when speaking on what to look for or how we could improve at church- because some will undoubtedly take the message as speaking against the church or recommending to stay away from the church.
No, NEVER shall that be!
Instead the message is: GO TO CHURCH, continue going, go even more so..
But before going PREPARE YOURSELF, AND ARM YOURSELF BY STUDYING GODS WORD.
Sinners walk in the front doors as they seek refuge and relief from being:
exhausted, beat down by sin, hungry, lost, devastated, broken, knowing no where else to turn- but then expecting to be transformed instantly by the church.
A man who has been walking in the desert under the hot sun, upon finally arriving at a source of water, immediately falls down to his knees and collapses, because he has made it. He releases the fight to survive as he falls down to drink water.
We sinners who first walk in the doors of church, believe that it works in the same way. We falsely believe that upon walking in and past the front DOORS- that we made it! We collapse in exhaustion but relieved God helped us make it.
Does the man then decide it is better to remain next to the water source and do nothing else? Does he contemplate remaining there in the desert for the rest of his life? Unless the man or woman is seriously injured and about to die, they fight to survive and continue on by first resting, hydrating, and then deciding the best time to continue on.
How many of us believers right now across every nation, in every country, in every city, in every town, and in every village, are STILL STANDING RIGHT NEXT TO THE SAME WATER SOURCE? It’s been two years, three years, five years, now 10, 20 years. Some of us have been standing in the same spot for so long we haven’t even noticed water ran out a long time ago. Church Services are filled with dried out DEAD BELIEVERS.
Rising Up By The Action Power Of Serving Christ
We go to church on Sunday or Wednesday for an hour, perhaps attend a midweek church function, hear the sermon, sing a few worships songs, and fellowship for a few minutes, and every time we do- we barely get OUR SPIRITUAL MOTORS GOING, and like always- once we are ROLLING, it’s time for services to be over. Time to go home. STOP SIGN.
IS THAT IT? IS THAT ALL?
IS THERE ANYTHING MORE?
HOW DO I KEEP THIS FIRE BURNING?
Talking about feeling POWERLESS, with our hands tied.
“Here I am with a burning fire inside my heart and ready to share it, but can’t find a single brother or sister to share it with. I can’t seem to find a way to contribute? I’m already going to Sunday and Wednesday service, and bible class. But I need more, pastor.“
How do I serve? In what capacity? In what way? In what role? Please Lord, tell me how I can help. I can’t see a way or know how.
In order to discover these answers, the following ACTION is required:
We are NOT TO REMAIN like weak helpless tadpoles in a puddle of water. Confined and restricted and unable to move beyond or out of the water.
Walking in the front doors of Church- DOES NOT MEAN WE MADE IT, that we can now relax as WE COLLAPSE into the chairs and take it easy. It means we have JUST ARRIVED from the outside, and now we must begin the journey as we walk with Christ on the inside. Look up! DO YOU SEE THE STAIRWAY THAT YOU NOW MUST CLIMB? SO GET YOUR REST, DRINK, PRAY, STUDY, GIVE, and more importantly TRAIN HARD EVERY DAY…
A time comes when sharing the FIRE OF CHRIST THAT BURNS WITHIN OUR SOUL- will require us to go beyond shaking hands, fellow shipping, applauding, bringing donuts to bible class, organizing a fund raiser, giving a ride to brother or sister Thomas, and going to church twice a week for an hour.
A time comes when the FIRE MUST BE FUELED BY HARD PHYSICAL WORK that doesn’t include another brother or sister at all. Just you and the Lord as you cut his yard. As you mop His floors. As you work on the busted door. As he physically uses your hands, feet, back, shoulders, to WORK and SERVE.
This work is GOD’S ONE on ONE training time into discipleship. GOD IS ABOUT TO USE YOU TO BUILD SOME REST STOPS AND MAKE SOME DISCIPLES.
This is what CHURCH IS about. Upon pulling in, we rest, gather our strength, and then we CONTINUE ON GROWING IN THE POWER OF CHRIST. TO DO HIS WILL, AND WE HARNESS THAT ALMIGHTY POWER BY TRUSTING WHOLE HEARTEDLY IN HIS PROMISES.
If you are relying upon the one to three hours a week of going and attending church services to prepare you to climb that stairway- you are never going to make it.
Back to the devices and strategies the enemy uses while in church. This is the reason the devil and his invisible goons are able to maneuver so easily and freely inside God’s House. Because of our lack of PREPARATION and TRAINING on the outside of church. 75% OF believers never made it out of the REST STOP.
IF we do our training, homework, studying, spending time in prayer, then when we walk in the front DOORS- everything changes. We then begin to be able to HELP THE CHURCH FAMILY instead of always relying on the church to help and feed us. We grow from sinner and beggar, to master servant worker of Christ! We then proceed to help BUILD AND CONSTRUCT other rest stops along the DIVINE SPIRITUAL HIGHWAY THAT LEADS TO GOD.
What a glorious thing! To help build a place, a sanctuary, a rest stop for others to rest, gather strength, and continue on!
In contrast- there are those who can’t wait to extend their empty hands out, in hopes the church will put something in them- FREE.
What a cowardly way to live, to wait around and be fed, without having to earn and work for it, or contributing in some way. That’s like being a beggar holding a street sign. I have never seen a beggar transformed who simply stood with his hands out expecting everyone to give and feed him.
Instead steady your hands and PUT THEM TO WORK BY HELPING YOUR CHURCH, OR FIND ONE TO HELP, paint, build, repair, sand, wash, clean, sanitize, straighten, cut, add, renovate, cook, make a sign, vacuum, design something, ask, but whatever you do, do NOT REMAIN standing still at the same spot.
You must generate energy, in some way MORE THAN BY PRAYER ALONE.
HARD WORK such as cutting the yard at church, or helping cook meals for service, or cleaning the bathrooms, or anything that requires you to physically work and move- this is the special ingredient that ACTUATES POWERFUL PRAYER.
Prayer is restricted if all we do is kneel, pray, and expect to receive.
But prayer is EXPLOSIVELY POWER-FULL when we place HARD WORK, SWEAT, TEARS, OUR OWN MONIES, into SERVING CHURCH.
Helping not only the pastor, or those in leadership positions, but anyone.
God bless you and we pray that HE FILL YOU WITH THE STRENGTH, COURAGE, AND POWER TO MOVE, WORK, AND SERVE, and may your prayers be ACTUATED BY YOUR SERVICE TO ALMIGHTY GOD today, tomorrow, and the rest of your lives- IN JESUS NAME AMEN. HalleluYAH!
I shared this with my Facebook friends. Thank you for the reminder that our personal growth happens mostly outside of the three hours of church services every week. It happens when we work to serve the church and others when we personally study and pray and when we are mentoring and discipling others.

And thank you for taking the time to comment, share, but more importantly for WORKING HARD to help others, this is what yields results and fruit.
