Releasing The Anchors

Wednesday March 24th’s Message

If you have tried over and over again to- release and let go of ‘the anchors’ in your life that attempt to drown you,

Have you asked or searched for help?
Have you prayed to Almighty God for help?

Specifically, by asking God to direct the help you need into your life?
By asking God, to help you see the helpers that are already in your life?
By asking God, to help you be willing to receive the help that is needed, from others?

At times God has already answered our prayers, but due to our unwillingness to receive help from others, we wind up rejecting the answer to our prayer.

The fundamental requirement of prayer is to ask God through FAITH, and TRUSTING in HIM, to answer our prayer. (James 1).

But there is another essential piece to our prayers being answered, that comes after FAITH.

#1 Being open to doing, the work, the task, the job, or the duty- that is required and may not appear to have any relation to our prayer. For instance, having to wash my mother’s car. I personally have prayed for opportunities to open up to allow me to work in God’s ministry. And in prayer, God answered me by ‘commanding me/instructing me to ‘wash my mother’s car’. Not once. Not twice. But three times.

This was necessary because the first two times, I ignored the instructions and I told myself it was not God. I even grew angry because my heart and mind were on ‘bigger more important things’. I wasn’t to be bothered with what I saw as trivial and insignificant matters like washing a car.

The third time God answered, He did so in the following manner: as soon as I was done praying for more opportunity and responsibility in the ministry I felt for the third time ‘go wash your mom’s car’ which angered me, almost to the point of cursing but I bit my tongue. As I tried to comprehend why this was happening, my mother walks into the living room and I asked her ‘where are you going?’

She replied ‘to wash my car’

God followed by impressing into my heart the following: ‘if I cannot trust you to go wash your mom’s car, how can I open up the door of more responsibility?’

He was so right. Washing the car in my mind, had nothing to do with ministry work, yet God taught me that it has everything to do with it. By being willing to listen to His instructions and follow them. Even when it is NOT WHAT I WANT TO DO, by doing this, it begins to teach us- IT IS NOT ABOUT DOING OUR WILL, IT IS ABOUT DOING HIS.

#2 Another critical reason anchors remain in our lives: Some anchors continue to remain in our lives because we foolishly believe we ourselves can cut their massive iron chains with our bare hands. We refuse to give up. But we also refuse to ask others for help. Or we do not want help from a specific brother or sister that has more of God’s spirit than we do- because we are jealous. Or they might rub us the wrong way. There are many reasons like this that stand in our way and serve as an obstacle that hinder us from ‘welcoming with open arms’ the help God has already sent.

Believers in Christ serve Team- Christ Almighty. Not Team- I, Myself, and Me.

No single believer is able to pass the football to himself to score a touchdown. It requires the help of another to ‘deliver us’ a pass in the end zone. Believers are equal team members, all with different roles and responsibilities- just like a football team.

No single believer is the quarterback. Team Christ already has an Eternal Hall Of Truth quarterback named Christ Jesus. We are not the star of the show. Christ is. We are not better than other players even if other players get paid more. And we will not win any SuperBowls by trying to do it alone.

My aim is to help others make sense of their own lives, by sharing the failures and misfortunes of mine. Misfortune and failure lead a man to the unmistakable clarity of his deception- That there is no need, nor room for God, because he himself is self sufficient, well educated, rich and capable. The more the man stays his ground, holding fast to his position- the more suffering he shall bring into his life. Suffering is the ground upon which elimination of the false occurs and perception of the Truth begins. After enough time is spent courting Misery, Pain, Humiliation, Slavery, Emptiness, one seeks to stop the bleeding. Some men prefer to bleed their way to death rather than admit their ignorance; that their way will never work. While other men, surrender, which is the beginning of knowledge. By surrendering the man does not fall, he rises and steps foot upon the path of Eternal Wisdom and Truth. It is the path that leads to Eternal Life- the pursuit of knowledge, is the pursuit of Almighty God- Man's Creator. *If you have questions, concerns, need direction, prayer, you may email me.* I do not charge for what Almighty God has given me freely.
