Slaying Giants

Together, through our Faith and Trust in Almighty God – we accomplish the impossible.

Amen! Brother, The Lord has us both writing about the exact same thing on this day, TRANSFORMATION, and Fear. Yet we have not spoken, nor did we need to speak to each other, instead the Holy Spirit spoke to us. And how many times does this happen out in the world when we meet a stranger for the first time?

It is but one of the wonderful ways God confirms to us, and speaks to us inside our hearts. It is one way to identity between those who just talk about having a relationship with God, and those who do have a daily relationship with God.

Christ is the HEAD, of the body. And when the Head speaks, all those individual members making up the body HEAR THE HEAD speaking, for they are adjoined together and held together as one by the UNIVERSAL HOLY SPIRIT OF ALMIGHTY GOD.

Fear does freeeze us. It paralyzes us.

What can we do to combat it? Understand the it is okay to fear. It is a false notion that men of God do not fear. Do not expect to serve God and not run into several situations, moments, confrontations, when you will not fear.

Because you will most definitely fear.

However, God will begin to work within your heart and soul to help you understand why that fear paralyzed you. And how to unfreeze yourself.

We freeze the moment we take our eyes off of God.

If you are fearing for your life, it is because you have taken your eyes off of God and placed them on thoughts of ‘it being your last day’.
If you fear the enemy and can’t move, it’s because you are looking directly at the enemy – the longer you look at the enemies powerful weapons, stature, and listen to their menacing snarl, the more fear will grow within you. Exactly like an anchor to drown your body in fear and try to make it impossible for you to pray to God for help.

If you remove your eyes off the enemy and place them directly upon God, you shall see and hear God say: I AM WITH YOU.

That’s all I needed to hear you say my Lord! Amen, and HalleluYAH! GREAT GLORRRRY TO GOD!

FOR if God is with me, then who can stand against me?

Every man at the front line of battle kept their gaze on GOLIATH The GIANT, HIS SIZE, HIS ARMOR, THEY HEARD HIS TAUNTS TWICE A DAY, THEY STAYED LISTENING AND WATCHING THE ENEMY, and that is why no one in the entire army moved or challenged Goliath. Instead men RAN the other way when Goliath would come out to taunt them. This went on day and night , twice a day.

Not for one day, not Two days, not 7 days, nope. It went on for FORTY DAYS, twice a day!

1 Samuel 16:14, 15.

As Unbelievable as it is to us that nobody from Gods people stood up, think again- how many times have you cowarded down to the Goliaths you have faced, and are currently facing?

David happened to be herding sheep and not at the front lines. Because David was not in the ARMY. Davids brothers were in the army. And one day some men in the army gave David some food, grain, and bread and told him to take it to his brothers.
Upon arriving where his brothers were- at the front lines , Goliath came out and David not only saw Goliath but heard him and his insults.

He must of looked around and saw nobody doing anything. Or nobody attacking. Which is why the Bible says in verse 26 of chapter 16 ” David talked to some others who were STANDING THERE, FROZEN. DOING NOTHING. “

I’m going to paraphrase what David asked those men as he tried to understand what was going on- “Who the hell is this guy anyway? that he is being allowed to defy the armies of the living God?!!”

David asks this question because He reasons in his heart while trying to understand the situation, so he thinks to himself – THERE MUST BE A VALID REASON THE CHOSEN ARMY OF GOD is not doing or acting. This GIANT must be someone really special or there’s something I don’t know.

There wasn’t anything special about him at all. The giant wasn’t royalty, he was just a big ole loud barking dog.

In that moment David never imagined it was FEAR holding the army back.

David SAW THE GIANT, but what He saw more was A GIANT WHO DEFIED OUR GOD, He saw the giants armor, height, and heard his insults but He kept His eyes upon God Almighty, which filled Him with COURAGE, TO DO AND FIGHT, FOR HE KNEW – what giant, what armor, what army, on earth could stand up against the power of Almighty God.

David kept His ears listening to Gods instructions and WORD: AND God said I AM WITH YOU.

We will never rid ourselves completely of fear, because FEAR OF GOD transforms boys into MEN WHO SERVE GOD.

Remember to keep your eyes upon God. Directly upon Him. You do not have to look the giant in the eyes, that means you are not looking at God. I learned this the hard way. One day I faced a powerful giant wicked spirit, it manifested before me and I was able to see it’s eyes.. instead of looking away, i tried to prove i was not scared- BIG HUGE MISTAKE.

Why did I do this?

Foolish ego, thinking too much of myself and not about God.

So as I looked it directly in the eyes, I gave it the opportunity to INSTILL A GREAT OVERWHELMING FEAR INTO ME. It stung my flesh in a way that I had never experienced, it was like it stung me with venomous poison that anchored my body to the earth.  I was like a rocket with no ability to lift off.

To make sense of it, how can a man pray to God for Help with His spirit, if the only thing he can feel at the moment is his flesh. A hard lesson learned that night. That battle lasted for hours, all through the night until the next morning’s light. It felt like an eternity.

Remember, do not look at any enemy in the eyes, you don’t have to, that is why God gave us peripheral vision. Instead keep your eyes directly upon God. And no matter what happens ALWAYS remember – it is not we, nor I, that slay the physical or spiritual GIANTS, it is the LIVING POWER OF ALMIGHTY GOD WITHIN US THAT DOES.
