We often mistake the road to Glory as being a individual walk with God.
Our walk toward God is anything but a one way road. It is a highway packed with vehicles traveling in many different directions. It feels personal because it is very personal, and God’s Love has that magnificent quality of making each person feel as if they are the sole child of Almighty God.
We should avoid the snare of ‘only worrying about ourselves as a defensive strategy to protect ourselves’.
How many times have you heard? “Look, you can’t save them, only Jesus can. You can’t force them to believe or to change, so worry about your own salvation before you lose yours.”
It sounds good. But that’s rooted in fear. And what is rooted in fear isn’t from God. That’s inexperience and lacks Wisdom. To employ such a strategy, is weakness, not Love.
If Jesus would of undertaken that strategy we have heard people in church say, our very own pastors, and brotheren, well then our HOPE wouldn’t be alive, it would be DEAD!
24 Then Jesus said to the disciples, “If anyone wants to be a follower of mine, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. 25 For anyone who keeps his life for himself shall lose it; and anyone who loses his life for me shall find it again.
37 but I will bring my people back again from all the countries where in my fury I will scatter them. I will bring them back to this very city and make them live in peace and safety. 38 And they shall be my people, and I will be their God. 39 And I will give them one heart and mind to worship me forever, for their own good and for the good of all their descendants.
Key words: THEM, MY PEOPLE.
Jesus did not die for MY sins. He died for the sins of the World.
We are the blessed body of Christ, comprised of multitude of chosen people. A family. A family who exercises love as Christ loved us.
Help someone carry their cross to Calvary. Always.
~thank you Lord for being the ink to my pen, In Jesus mighty name, Amen.
