1 Corinthians 13: 4-8
Love never fails. Why?
God is LOVE.
“I have loved you from the moment I gave you life and I will always be with you. “
No matter the strategy, the plot or action, how terrific or how grave, in moments of suffering- love arises to hold us together from falling apart. It unifies us together by the love God poured out from Himself and into us when he formed us.
That is why in our darkest hours of tragedy love abounds.
“I will not abandon you nor forsake you. “
Love strips away our racial divides, our social standings, and the very differences that cause the sufferings we are undergoing.
Catastrophes occur to awaken us. To shake us loose from the grip of the world. In an instant earthquakes, tsunamis, disasters both natural and man made, shake us free from the arrogance of pride, lies, money, fame, class, race, and social status. A few seconds after the trumpet blast of disaster a tranquil silence resonates loudly as we frantically search for life. In that moment as we look around our vision becomes crystal clear- we are all equal.
From inside us immediately and instinctively flows love, teaching us how to freely live in his love and how to keep our eyes set on the path God has painted for us to walk on. The path leads to Him.
Disasters are wake up calls, that shake us to the core for a moment as they scream aloud “snap out of it and change” but instead we hit snooze and shortly thereafter wake back up to practicing the same inequalities that wiped away our homes and flooded our communities.
They want to call it global warming. Call it what it is- blind ignorant arrogance.
Disasters arrive to bring us together and demonstrate that we do not know how to lead ourselves, that is God’s duty. He formed us and gave us life and spoke to Adam telling him what to do.
The bird who sings, sings delightfully to God and to the world as his song testifies beautifully “I am doing what God designed me to do” for this reason his heart is full of joy and so are his wings.
This is the heart set upon God. Full of Joy. Singing songs of praise as we do what he designed us to do and live out our God given purposes.
We shall spread our wings and fly like Eagles into the warmth of God’s horizon.
