[Sent to a friend this morning, nicely typed on notepad, just for him]
43:18:”Forget the former things;
do not dwell on the past.
65:17 “See, I will create
new heavens and a new earth.
The former things will not be remembered,
nor will they come to mind.
43:25 “I, even I, am he who blots out
your transgressions, for my own sake,
and remembers your sins no more.
Two things I want to tell you. First, in regards to what Jehovah says as you see by the scriptures above. He clearly wants us to focus on the future. Because he forgives us.
However, the devil condemns us, if you let him by recalling to our minds, our errors, our sins; he loves to remind us of them. They weigh us down. If we linger there too long, we may repeat them again. Instead we should focus on what our Lord says in the scriptures.
The next time the Devil reminds you of your past, remind him of his future.
Instead of allowing him to condemn us by our past, we should condemn him by reminding him of his future;placing upon him our security of our salvation, letting him know that no matter what happens we shall be saved.
I often say, the devil has no hold on me, but the one I allow him to have.
[Received from my Mother in the afternoon]
“Mira adelante nunca patraz. Que tengas un buen dia! ”
Translated: Look ahead never to the past. 🙂
Needless to say, my mother and I had not spoke, so she had no idea I had just composed the brief piece of encouragment I sent to my spiritual friend. I estatically showed my friend:
“You see sir, this is how Jehovah confirms you are in harmony, that he is with you. He takes the ordinary, and makes it extraordinary.”
Remaining in the Grace of God means everything.
Losing it means living a nightmare.
When I conduct myself in a manner that I know will cause me to lose his grace, yet continue endeavoring forward, I become witness to the marvel of his protection and saving grace by its removal from my life. Suddenly, everything that can go wrong, does. No more up front parking. No more pleasant smiles from strangers, they turn to looks of disdain. “Yes, officer I was speeding, thank you for the ticket and have a nice day.” Extra long lines everywhere I go. Busted water hose on the way to work. Once at work I get the most difficult scenarios possible. The removal of his grace is as clear as day. From illuminated white to dirt black.
I’m learning how to remain within his loving Grace. The key is obedience.
Jesus Promises the Holy Spirit
15 “If you love me, keep my commands. 16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever— 17 the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be[c] in you.
23 Jesus replied, “Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them. 24 Anyone who does not love me will not obey my teaching. These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me
The Vine and the Branches
15 “I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. 2 He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes[a] so that it will be even more fruitful. 3 You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. 4 Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.
5 “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. 6 If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. 7 If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. 8 This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.
Thank you for those of you who visit.
