“Remember Brother, if you discover that you’ve been taught wrong on a certain point, one that you were taught your whole entire life and that you were absolutely convinced was true, initially it’s natural to resist, to not want to believe it is so, however, with time you will come to understand it does not diminish your Faith, it increases it.”
Nobody wants to believe what they’ve been taught their whole life has been a lie. Nobody wants to believe the people they confided in and trusted to lead them in Truth, have been mistaken. Nobody wants to believe, for the last thirty years I have been mistaken. I have been deceived. We would rather put down the new discovery and toss it aside as garbage, but our love for God and truth convicts us to seek further. To ask our Heavenly Father for direction and for Holy Spirit to help us comprehend.
It’s so easy to let someone else tell you what a scripture means but don’t forget to ask God what it means.
I’ve heard too many times:
I didn’t ask God because someone told me what the scripture meant and I was able to reason it was the Truth.
I didn’t ask God because I’m humble and I’ll be perceived by others as doubtful on what I’ve been taught.
I didn’t ask God because he won’t answer me.
I didn’t ask God because he does not enlighten us, just the leaders of the Church. {Or whoever claims that they are the only ones capable of enlightenment}
I didn’t ask God because I had no need to ask.
Here is what the Word says: 1 James v 2-7
2 Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters,[a] whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3 because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. 4 Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. 5 If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. 6 But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. 7 That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. 8 Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do.
